Garth Ray Berg

Garth Ray Berg, 82, left us all behind early in the morning on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, and hopefully there was Maker’s Mark waiting for him somewhere when he arrived. Garth loved a good drink, a good time, and good meat, so much that he used to judge American Royal Barbeque and people begged him to make beef jerky and cook their Thanksgiving turkey.

You may have known Garth from one of the several jobs he had since moving to Lawrence in 1966. Garth never knew a stranger and his home had a revolving door for anyone who walked through it.

Judy, his wife and partner in crime for the past 40 years, will miss him dearly, as will his children and bonus children, Jadene, Dawn, Marc, Wendy, Tim, Andy and David, their spouses, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at his request.

Til we meet again…..

So sorry to hear about Garth! He was a great guy and will be missed. I worked with Garth at All Star Dairy and became friends with him, my husband and I enjoyed a few drinks with him over the years back in the late 70’s early 80’s. Thoughts and prayers to Judy and all the family at this difficult time.
