David Franklin Stutler of Lawrence, KS, passed away Thursday, December 11th, 2014, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. David was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on September 2, 1941, to Bernard Franklin and Alma (Parsons) Stutler. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Jona Marguerite (James) Stutler. David and Jona are survived by seven children: Andrew Stutler of Lawrence, Scott Stutler of Lawrence, Jill Stutler of Eudora, Jay (Jennifer) Stutler of Porter Ranch, CA, Joy Stutler-Grant of Gardner, David (Katie) Stutler of Lawrence, and Jon (Mindy) Stutler of Lawrence. David’s children and 8 grandchildren will miss his unwavering devotion to his family. The family will have a private gathering where there will be much laughter, plenty of ribbing, and joyful remembrances. So sorry to hear that David was unable to recover from the stroke. Last Monday, when I talked to him I was convinced that he was getting better and he believed he was he was going home soon.
You have lost a father and I have lost a brother that was loved very much. David and I woould have been good friends as well as brothers had we not been seperated by time and space.
His visit in August was very enjoyable and he got to see some of our family including our great grandchildren Lily and Lucas Cosper.
We will all miss David and we offer our prayers to his seven children and their families .

When you publish his obituary please forward it to me or the Parkersburg News and Sentinel, because he had many friends in this area that ask about him from time to time.

Dave was a good friend and coworker during my time with him in the FAA Central Region Office. He was one of my e-mail friends with whom I shared many jokes. He had such a great sense of humor and I can still see him laughing whenever we were together. He really loved his family and went out of his way whenever one of his children needed something. We traveled together on a few occasions and we had a ball doing so. He was an excellent FAA employee and was very highly respected by his peers and supervisors. He was just the kind of guy that everybody loved. He will be sorely missed by everyone!
I’m very sorry to hear about David’s passing. We both returned to Parkersburg about ten years ago for a Quincy Street reunion, which was the first time I’d seen him since the early 1950s when we lived next to each other. I’ve passed the obit along to my brother Bob, who was David’s age.
I am so sorry for your loss. We have such wonderful memories of your dad and mom. Our cousin get togethers were a time when your mom kept us in stitches and many a story included a story about David as only your mom could tell. Please know you are in our thoughts.
