The funeral service for Austin Lee Clover, 16, Baldwin City, KS, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. He died on Thursday, February 11th at his home near Baldwin.
He was born on January 10, 1994 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Ricky Lee Clover and Christina LeVier.
Austin was a sophomore at Baldwin High School and was a two-sport letterman in baseball and soccer. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Survivors include his father and mom (Sissy), Ricky and Carrie Clover, of the home, his mother, Christina Clover-Johnson, of Salina, KS., a brother, Alexander Johnson, of Salina, KS and a sister, Alyssa Johnson, of Salina, KS. Other survivors include: his paternal grandparents, Kenneth Lee and Jackie Clover, of Lawrence, his maternal grandmother, Cynthia Kay Arnold, of Salina, KS, his maternal great grandparents, Kenneth Snyder of Osawatomie, KS, Patricia Watkins, of Lawrence, KS, and three uncles; Mike (wife, Beth) Clover, Brad (wife, Melissa) Clover and Randy Clover. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ashley Clover in 1993.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the Baldwin High School Athletic Department for the Baseball and Soccer programs and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
There will be a gathering after the funeral and burial from 5-7 p.m at the First United Methodist Church (8th and Grove) in Baldwin City.
Words cannot express our sorrow at your loss.
So sorry to hear about this tragedy that you are having to deal with. We have a small idea of what you may be going through as we lost Jesse 6 yrs ago now in a tragic accident.
There isn’t a day that goes by that we are not reminded of him.

We are of course saddened by the death of Austin. We have not seen him for a few years, but have fond memories of spending time with him, his Mother Tina, Grandmother Cindy and brother Alex. We remember his sweet personality, bright eyes, and contagious laugh. He was a delight!

I was lucky enough to coach Austin when he played basketball in jr. high. He was a hard worker and intent on learning and becoming a better player. I always appreciated the great attitude he brought to our practices and games. Austin will be greatly missed.
