Graveside service for Rosemary Brown Cumpston, 84, Lawrence, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Eudora Cemetery. She died Thursday, October 29, 2009, at her home in Lawrence.
She was born December 31, 1924, in Kansas City, MO the daughter of William and Kathryn Johnston Gabel.
Mrs. Cumpston worked as a secretary/administrative assistant in the physics department at the University of Kansas. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
She married Elzie O. Brown. He preceded her in 1970. She later married Dale L. Cumpston. He preceded her in 2002.
Survivors include a daughter Kathy Linley and husband, Al, Flower Mound, TX; a son Stephen Brown and wife, Lisa, Lawrence; ten grandchildren, Tim and Kristen Linley, Frisco, TX, Christina Linley, College Station, TX, Stephen Linley, Flower Mound, TX, Kenton Brown, Lawrence, Jason Brown, Rolla, MO, Tyler Pool Granbury, TX, Trista and Tim Reeves, Lawrence, Jacob Pool, Lawrence; two great grandchildren, Kylee and Dakota Pool, Granbury, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 1, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
