Richard Turner

Memorial service for Richard A. Turner, 84, Lawrence, will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2009, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Turner died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at his home.

He was born October 1, 1925, in De Soto, KS the son of William B. and Lula L. (Benton) Turner.

Mr. Turner worked at Weaver’s Department Store before retiring.  He was a member of Praise Temple Church of God in Christ.

He is survived by a brother, Frederick Turner, Trotwood, OH; a sister Alfreida Brown, Overland Park, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.

The family will greet friends after the service on Monday.
