Charity Vann

Funeral services for Charity Vann, 24, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Morning Star Christian Church. Private burial will be in the Oak Hill               Cemetery.  She died September 5, 2009 at her home after a 5 year battle with cancer.

She was born January 5, 1985 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of James and Madalon (Scott) Vann

She graduated from Lawrence High School in 2005 and worked there for 3 years as a para in the handicapped room with Deb Engstrom.  She attended and was a member of Morning Star Christian Church.

Survivors include her parents of the home; five brothers, James Vann, Jr. Lawrence; Howard Born and his wife, Lisa of Rantoul, KS; P.J. Born and wife, Jolene, Olathe, Kansas; Jerome Cole and wife Yolanda, Memphis, TN; Daniel Vann of the home; four sisters, Rebekah Vann, Olathe, KS; Shannon Vann; Kimberly Vann and Angel Vann all of the home; Maternal Grandmother, Mary Ruth Scott of Lawrence and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mildred Vann and maternal grandfather, Howard Scott.

The family will greet friends from 7-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
