William Hundley

A memorial service for William Eugene Hundley, 88, Lawrence will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died June 24, 2017 at his home.

William was born on July 27, 1928 in Fairview, Kansas the son of Ernest and Gladys (Spicer) Hundley.

He worked for Milrite Carpenters until his retirement on December 1, 1993. He was a member of the Carpenter Local 644 in Pekin, IL and Masonic Lodge #156 in Delevan, IL. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.

He married Mina J. Place on November 27, 1987 in Eudora, KS. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Elms (Charlie), Lawrence, Donna (Tweet) Manker (Greg), Baldwin City, Kathy Mallonee (Harold), Lawrence; two sons, Jerry Luther (Joy), Lecompton, Steve Luther, Pamona; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Merwin, The Colony, TX, Norma Jean Farmer (Kenny), Holton, KS; two sisters-in-law, Marge Hundley, Loretta Hundley, both of Holton and his beloved Bishon dog, Buddy, his companion of four years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Duane Hundley, Jerry Hundley and Stanley Hundley, son, Randy Luther, daughters, Janice Blackman and Lita Bateson.

Memorial contributions may be sent in his name to Kathy Mallonee and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
