Steve Chandlee

Memorial services for Steven “Steve” Kent Chandlee, 63, Lawrence will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Steve was born November 8, 1953 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Ellis Roy and Theita Lois (Thompson) Chandlee.

He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1972. He was a member and past president of Eagles Lodge 309.

He was worked as an offset pressman for Color press and Treasure Chest Advertising until he was injured. He worked in maintenance for Malls Olde English until he retired in 2014.

Survivors include his son, Damon Chandlee, Lawrence; two daughters, Nina Welch (Jeremy), Leavenworth, KS, Amanda Yother (Tom), Lawrence; three grandchildren; Liam, Will, Christian and Dominic is on his way; sisters, Suzie Cruzan, Melrose, NM, Julie Dunblazier (Duane), Falcon, CO, Deb Goss (Paul), Tonganoxie, KS; brother, Phil Dawson, Mission Viejo, CA. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Dean and Dallas Brown and sister, Kathy Brown, both his parents and a step mom Wyona Chandlee.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the mortuary.
