Samuel Jaimez

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say goodbye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

Samuel Jaimez (66) went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2018. He was born July 1, 1952 in Lawrence, KS. He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Thoms (Brett) of Topeka, KS, Selena Jaimez (Mark Callaway) of Topeka, KS; like a son, Michael Jaimez; his mother, Julia Jaimez of Coffeyville, KS; and his brothers: twin brother, Daniel Jaimez of Lawrence, KS, Pete Jaimez of Lawrence, KS, Thomas Jaimez of Lee’s Summit, MO, Mike Jaimez of Topeka, KS, Andy Jaimez (Rhonda) of Coffeyville, KS, Gene Jaimez of Lawrence, KS and Allen Jaimez of Topeka, KS; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jean Carmen Jaimez of Topeka, KS; sister, Christina Behrns of Haysville, KS; brother, Timothy Jaimez of Coffeyville, KS.

Sam passed peacefully with his family around him. He loved to joke around and would laugh at his own jokes. What gave him joy was his two daughters, Melissa and Selena and enjoyed spending time with them. Sam and his twin, Danny went to job corps together and Sam shared many memories from that journey. He went to school in Lawrence, KS and had numerous jobs in the community. He loved the KU Jayhawks and the K.C. Chiefs. It will be hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
