Robert “Bob” Keith Marsh

Memorial services for Robert “Bob” Marsh, 90, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private inurnment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died August 7, 2017 at Bridge Haven Memory Care in Lawrence.

He was born on February 1, 1927 in Pleasanton, Kansas the son of Arthur Calvin and Ruth (Starbuck) Marsh.

Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and was also a member of other service organizations throughout his lifetime in Lawrence. He was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing bridge and spending time at his cabin with family.

Robert and Nita co-owned M&M Office Supply in Lawrence, which they started in 1960. Robert enjoyed working with the public for over 40 years.

He married Juanita M. Farrar August 10, 1947 in Hillsdale, KS. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2015.

Other survivors include one son, Craig (Leslie) Marsh, Lawrence; two daughters, Janet (Richard) Belote, Canton, GA, Linda (Clark) Cropp, Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Cameron (Liz) Marsh Caitlin Marsh, Andrew (Kristyn) Belote, Matthew (Amanda) Belote, John (Amy) Belote, Alison (Aaron) Fullen, Benjamin Cropp and Melanie (Anthony) Cervantez; five great grandchildren, Bennett Belote, Emma Belote, Avery Belote, Owen Belote, Leo Fullen; many nieces & nephews and loving family.

Family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service on Saturday, August 12th at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Meals on Wheels or Alzheimer’s Association and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

    Bob and Nita were two of the kindest people I remember growing up in Lawrence. They always had a smile and kind words for everyone they met and they will be missed by many. Please know I’m thinking about you during this difficult time. Blessings on all your family.

    My life was better for knowing Bob and Nita. I remember the twinkle in Bob’s eyes and the smile when he saw you. And because of them I have the best friend ever. Our sympathy to the family. What a loss for us, but a grain for heaven.

    It seems like yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting Bob and Nita through my in-laws, Jane and Jerry Rogers. We crossed paths many times over the years and they both always had a kind word and smile for all of us. Our love, sympathy, and prayers to all of your family at this time and always. They will be missed.
