Graveside service for Maxie Aileen Huggins, 89, Liberty, MO formally of Lawrence KS and Porterville, CA will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence, KS. She died November 24, 2018 in Liberty, MO.
Maxie was born on August 6, 1929 in Morrilton, Arkansas the daughter of Charles Edmond and Ona May (Rankin) Nance.
She was an LPN nurse and worked for Good Shepherd Home Staff Development for 30 years.
She married James C. Huggins on March 28, 1948. They later divorced.
Survivors include daughters, Beverly A. Moore (Hollis) Liberty, MO; son, James “Jim” Carrol Huggins (Cindy) Tyler, Texas; sister, Wanda Fast, OR; five grandchildren, Kimberly Sanchez, David Fought, Amanda Huggins, Jonathan Huggins and five great-grandchildren, Courtney Martin, Cody, Caylee and Camryn Sanchez, Aidan Fought .
She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen Marie Casey (Jon); brother, James M. Rankin; sisters, Claudene Harland and Fay Grimes.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
