Marion Vasquez

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date for Marion Vasquez. Inurnment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Lawrence.

Marion Vasquez, 86, of Lawrence, died September 27, 2017 at Brandon Woods. He was born September 12, 1931 in Ft. Madison, IA to Juan and Margarita Vasquez

Marion worked and retired from Hercules Ammunition Plant.

He married Lavina Garcia.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, Lavina, three brothers, and two grandchildren.

He is survived by: six daughters; Gloria (Stephen) Vasquez-Crockett, Rebecca (Terry) Vasquez, Cynthia Vasquez, Stephanie (Nick) Vasquez, Regina (Dean) Vasquez-Hodges, Trisha Vasquez, three brothers, Lupe, Charlie, Leonard, one sister, Mary, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Marion was concerned about the recent hurricanes and world events. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of donor’s choice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    So sad to hear of passing of Monte, I always enjoyed him and his girls coming by to get those hot peppers and tomatoes. Cindy, we shared those recipes for canning. God Be with you all during this sorrowful time. God Bless !
