Peggy & Janiece, your mother was a joy every time I saw her. When I would see her I would start to introduce myself and she would stop me with, “I know who you are, Sharon!” She lived an amazing and generous life and has left amazing memories for all who knew her and your sweet family.
Love and blessings to all of you.

When I retired from teaching, I went on a trip to Turkey and Greece with your mother and four or five other people. She was the most fun and energetic lady on the trip. I just loved to be with her. I can still “hear” her voice. I always enjoyed seeing you, Janiece, and your mom at stores. She was a wonderful lady and loved her kids so much. She is still helping and sharing herself to teach others. May God Bless Her. Love, Mary Gordon

It has been a pleasure to have known your mother, Janiece and Peggy. She always was friendly anytime we met her around town. She often had special stories to tell of what she was doing at her work — KU — she took particular pride in knowing many students, taking care of their dorm, and just making the day brighter for many of them. She was so excited about her trips around the world and had interesting stories to tell. On my visits to see her when she moved to Presbyterian Manor, she always introduced me to her caregivers and friends with whom she ate meals. She was fun to talk with and listen to her stories. She will be missed.

While I only knew Kathryn a little under a year, her impression on my life will be a long lasting one. I will remember her 1,000 watt smile, staying after work to visit with her, and most importantly her love for her daughters. Even after I was no longer a caretaker of hers, it brought me so much joy to come back and talk with her. I had asked her what advice she could give me about life, she told me to go as many places as I could and spend my time with my family. It’s my hope that one day I can share my stories and touch lives the way that Kathryn did. My deepest condolences to both Janiece and Peggy, she will be so very missed.

My sincere condolences, Janiece and Peggy. Your family was especially beloved by Dean, who always remembered and appreciated his time with you in Lawrence. I came along later in time, but certainly felt the love from you all as well. Your mother was such a shining light, I remember her smile, particularly, and as someone who always made one feel welcome. What a wonderful life to have reached out and touched so many, so positively. My love to you all.
