Gail L. Wharton

Graveside services for Gail L. Wharton, 80, Eudora will be held 10:30 a.m. September 29, 2018 at Eudora Cemetery. She died September 6, 2018 at her home in Eudora.

She was born January 24, 1938 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin the daughter of Roy M. and Martha A. (Beckett) Sanders.

She worked in the house keeping department at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Gail enjoyed puzzles and word search. She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her roses. She watched old western movies and listened to classic county music and reading romance novels. She loved to spend time and enjoyed all her grandchildren.

Gail is survived by her children, Mike (Pam) Seay, Modesto, CA, Kathy (Danny) Strimple, Eudora, KS, Jerry (Kathy) Griesmer, Eudora, KS, nine grandchildren, Trisha Strimple, David Seay, Eric Strimple, Nikki Kelly, Andreya Viscovich, Jennifer Peatross, Samantha Jayne, Brittany Flowers, Hannah Griesmer; three brothers, Keith (Lois) Sanders, Hayward, WI, Larry (Karen) Sanders, Eudora, KS, Terry Sanders; three sisters, Donna (Don) Shultz, Lawrence, KS, Dorothy (Carl) Alexander, Ellijay, GA, Carman (Duane) Dennis; eight great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons; multiple nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy M. and Martha A. Sanders; her siblings, Neil Sanders and Delores Tucker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    So sorry to hear of this loss, your grandma was a wonderful lady Trisha and Eric. I have many memories of her growing up next door to her.

    Gail was such a wonderful person at work. She was always helpful to us in the Labor and Delivery department at LMH.
