Freda Colleen Stalkfleet

Graveside services for Freda Colleen Stalkfleet, 85, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Freda was born February 5, 1932 in Clay Center, KS the daughter of Charles and Alma (Alstrom) Shutt.

Freda graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence, KS. She went on to marry Robert “Bob” Stalkfleet in 1949, two sons Ronnie and Donnie were born to this union. After raising her children, Freda pursued a job in the lab department of Lawrence Memorial Hospital which lasted more than 30 years. Freda was also a member of several local clubs in the Lawrence/Eudora communities.

Freda is survived by two sons, Ronald Stalkfleet and Donald Stalkfleet; two grandsons, Jason Stalkfleet and Travis (Rebecca) Stalkfleet; stepgrandson, Ryan Crain; two granddaughters, Victoria Halsten (Mark) and Kylee Stalkfleet (Jason Conrad); four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and brother, Felix (Marion) Shutt.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Charles and Alma Shutt; brother, Robert Shutt; daughter-in-law, Linda Stalkfleet; and great grandson, Peyton Conrad.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 26th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to VFW, Lawrence Humane Society or Wildcard Wildlife Rehabilitation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    I last saw Freda when she was still working part-time at LMH. She always had a wonderful smile for everyone.

    Freda and I were in the same Liberty Memorial High School Class of 1951. She was a wonderful lady. I enjoyed being with her.

    My sympathy goes to you–her sons and families.
