Amie Williams Ford

Amie Williams Ford, 52, of Prairie Village, KS passed on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Overland Park Regional Hospital. Amie was born on January 16, 1966 in Kansas City, MO to Ronald Williams and S. Ann (Irvin) Ford. Amie lived most of her life in Prairie Village, graduating from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1984 and later attending DeVry University, graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics. She then worked for MCI Communications in Colorado Springs, CO until a previous diagnosis of multiple sclerosis progressed significantly. Before MS robbed Amie of her physical health, she will be remembered by her entire family and friends for her sharp wit, humor, intelligence, tenacity, willpower, love of sports, the outdoors, and just a general love of life. Amie is survived by her mother, Ann Ford, sisters Melissa Ford and Beth Harris (Dave), and her brother Myron Ford. Amie had a great love for her nieces Sarah Dooley, Serena, Charlotte and Malia Ford, and her nephews Morgan Dooley and Brian Thomas.

Amie will be at rest with a natural burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, KS with a private family graveside service. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Oak Grove Christian Church, 5703 Oak Grove Rd, Kansas City, KS.

Memorial contributions can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Mid America Chapter and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
