Marjorie Clovis

 

Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie Ann (Peine) Clovis, 70, Lawrence, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2009, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  She died Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 13, 1939, in Greeley, KS, the daughter of Maurice and Marie (Otten) Peine.

Marjorie worked at Hallmark Cards.  She retired in 1992.  She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and was a lifelong member of the Alford-Clarke Post #852, VFW, Lawrence.  Marjorie was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a member of the Women’s Guild at Corpus Christi.

She married James H. Clovis on July 28, 1973, in Greeley, KS.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two brothers, Joe Peine and wife Wilma and Tom Peine and wife Marcia, both of Greeley, KS; three sisters, Roberta and husband Mike Thomas, Tucson, AZ, Patty Owings, Wellsville, KS and Judy and husband Gary Brock, Lenexa, KS and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, followed by visitation with the family until 8:30 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or Charity of Donor’s Choice and sent in care of the mortuary.
