Combined funeral services for LOYD D. DAVIDSON, 87, and his wife, BILLIE D. DAVIDSON, 82, Lawrence will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial with Military Honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Hickory Pointe in Oskaloosa.

He was born on January 3, 1922 in Thida, Arkansas, the son of John Z. and Ann Stewart Davidson.

He served in the Army during WWII, and received the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

He was a licensed electrician. He had worked for Hercules, Sears, Coca-Cola and retired from Lawrence Memorial Hospital in 1987.

He married Billie Dozier in Batesville, AR on August 10, 1946.  She followed him in death on September 14, 2009.

He is also survived by three daughters: Sheila Evans, Oskaloosa, KS; Brenda Doerr, Olathe, KS; Tammy Ivesdal, Jamestown, ND; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by three brothers.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made in his name to Heart of America Hospice and sent in care of the mortuary.
