Brandon White

Memorial service for Brandon M. White, 29, Lawrence, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Heartland Community Church.  Mr. White died May 6, 2009, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

He was born July 30, 1979, in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Michael Roy White and Angela Marie Felling White.

Mr. White graduated from Lawrence High School in 1997, where he was a member of the Baseball team and the Marching Band.  He was also a member of the American Legion Baseball Team. He attended Emporia State, the University of Kansas and Johnson County Community College and worked as a counselor for Camp Barnabas in Southern Missouri during the summers.

He graduated from Seminary in Kansas City 2004 and then served as an Associate Pastor at Heartland Community Church for many years.  While at Heartland Community Church, he lead youth groups on missionary trips to many Native American Reservations in the Western United States.

He married Jody Gray on June 9, 2001 in Lawrence, KS.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son; his father, Michael White, Gardner, KS; his mother, Ange White, Eudora, KS; three brothers, Zachary, Columbus, OH, Christopher, Miki, Japan, Justin, Lawrence; maternal grandfather, Eugene Felling, Platte City, MO; paternal grandfather, Merlin White and wife, Shirley, St. Joseph, MO; paternal grandmother, Jean Aeschliman and husband, Ken, Hiawatha, Kansas.

The family will greet friends 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Brandon M. White Cancer Fund as a memorial to his son’s educational fund.
